A Very Special 'Thank You' to the Catch! Community

The First Catch!Cup
June 30, 2014
It started with a conversation - "How do we create a lacrosse event where everyone gets to play, everyone gets to score, everyone makes new friends, and everyone gets better?" It has been a few years since that conversation but we're proud to say our first Catch!Cup last weekend could not have been better.
40 minutes of gameplay for every player
96% of players scored multiple goals
For the players - 3 mini games, each with its own unique twist, all designed to reward teamwork and unselfishness about all:
1. Full-Field Mini Goals - For our fleet-footed players, this was the chance to get out and run. Keep the other team on their heels while you spread the field and press the fast break over and over again.
2. Half-Court Fireball - Sometimes us coaches want to get involved too! So, in this game we step onto the field to provide an additional offensive player to whichever team has the ball. Make-it-take-it rules keep the tempo up and ensure that any team can go on a run at any moment.
3. BTB - This is where things got interesting - 2 goals, back-to-back, with an offsides line in between. Players got crafty and worked the offsides to their advantage while your the outlet feeder keeps a barrage of new balls incoming for the next goal.
For the parents - Shade tents, umbrellas, chairs and cold drinks to keep the sun at bay while they watched the cheered on their son's team. Lacrosse is about being a part of a community - something far greater than any one of us. Parents, siblings and friends lined the sidelines of every field and made it even more special for every player.
We are on a m to produce the best live lacrosse event anyone has ever seen. Thank you to the parents and players for making our first Catch!Cup a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience and we can't wait to see everyone at our next one.
